Whether it's a boring hairstyle we've had for years or clothes we've grown tired of, small changes often help us feel better.
American Rosa Ramirez realized it was time for a change after not cutting her hair for 25 years.
Her hair was so long that she sometimes stepped on it as she walked. Over the years, her husband tried to convince her to change her hairstyle, but she was proud of her five-foot-long mane.
Eventually, she got fed up, and after 25 years, together with her friends, she decided to visit a hair salon. There, they cut her hair to her shoulders.
The salon's owner, Eda Mochka, told WXYZ-TV Detroit:
"We love seeing when clients decide on something different, a new style. We meet often, and it's always been the same — until today."
But Rosa didn't just make the change. She decided to donate her hair to Locks of Love, a non-profit organization that makes wigs for children who have lost their hair as a result of cancer treatment.
Ramirez sent four feet (about 1.2 meters) of her hair to help others.
“I believe this will make a sick child's day a little brighter,” she says.
Rosa's story is inspiring - to see how someone dares to change something in themselves and at the same time do good is a real pleasure.
